Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45475

Abd al-Rahman told us, on the authority of Sufyan, Shu`bah, and Hammad bin Salamah, on the authority of Salamah bin Kuhayl, on the authority of Hajiya bin Adiy, that a man asked Ali, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of Al-Baqarah. He said, on the authority of seven. He said, “The horn.” He said, “It will not harm you.” He said, “The Lame.” He said, “When you have attained the rituals.” He said. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, commanded us to seek out the eye and the ear. Muhammad ibn Ja`far narrated to us. Shu’bah narrated to us on the authority of Salamah ibn Kuhayl said: I heard Hajjayyah bin Adiyy said: I heard Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, and a man asked him and he mentioned the hadith.
