حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالا‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ الصَّوَّافُ، عَنْ حَنَانٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ، قَالَ‏:‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ إِذَا أُعْطِيَ أَحَدُكُمُ الرَّيْحَانَ فَلا يَرُدُّهُ، فَإِنَّهُ خَرَجَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ‏.‏
Muhammad ibn Khalifa and Amr ibn Ali told us: Yazid ibn Zuray’ told us: Hajjaj al-Sawwaf told us, on the authority of Hanan, on the authority of Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: If one of you is given basil, he should not refuse it, for it came from Paradise.
