Hadith #48027
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ مَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُفْطِرَ مِنْهُ، وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ مَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَصُومَ مِنْهُ، وَمَا صَامَ شَهْرًا كَامِلا مُنْذُ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ إِلا رَمَضَانَ.
Mahmoud bin Ghaylan told us, he said: Abu Dawud told us, he said: Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Abu Bishr, he said: I heard Saeed bin Jubayr, On the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to fast until we said what he wanted to break his fast, and he would break his fast until we said what he wanted to do. He fasts from it, and he has not fasted a full month since he came to Medina except Ramadan.
