Muwatta Malik — Hadith #34941
Hadith #34941
Yahya told me, on the authority of Malik, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Abd Allah ibn Abi Sa`sa`ah, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Sa`id al-Khudri, that He heard a man reciting, “Say: He is God, One.” He repeated it, and when the next morning he went to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he mentioned that to him as if the man He recited it, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, it is equivalent to a third of the Qur’an.”
