Sahih Muslim — Hadith #7638

Narrated by Al-Hasan al-Hulwānī: He said: “I heard Yazīd bin Hārūn talking about Ziyād bin Maymūn, and he said: ‘I swore not to report anything from him or from Khālid bin Mahdūj.’ [Yazīd] said: ‘I met Ziyād bin Maymūn and asked him for a hadith, so he reported it to me from Bakr al-Muzanī, then I went back to him and he reported it to me from Muwarriq; Then I returned and he related it to me from al-Hasan.’ [Al-Hulwānī said]: ‘He [Yazīd] accused both of lying [i.e., Ziyād bin Maymūn and Khālid bin Mahdūj].’ Al-Hulwānī said: ‘I heard [hadiths] from Abd as-Samad and I mentioned Ziyād bin Maymūn in his presence, and he accused him of lying.’”
