Hadith #1300
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الأَحْوَلُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم شَهْرًا حِينَ قُتِلَ الْقُرَّاءُ، فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَزِنَ حُزْنًا قَطُّ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُ.
We talked to 'Umar ibn' Ali, we talked to Muhammad ibn Fadil, we talked to Asim al-Ahwal, about Anas - may Allah be pleased with him - he said that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said a month when the reciters were killed, so when I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), he was sadder than him.
