حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ :
" أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُسْدِلُ شَعْرَهُ ، وَكَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَفْرِقُونَ رُءُوسَهُمْ ، وَكَانَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ يُسْدِلُونَ رُءُوسَهُمْ ، وَكَانَ يُحِبُّ مُوَافَقَةَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فِيمَا لَمْ يُؤْمَرْ فِيهِ بِشَيْءٍ ، ثُمَّ فَرَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأْسَهُ ".
Suwaid ibn Nasr narrated to us, saying: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, on the authority of Yunus ibn Yazid, on the authority of al-Zuhri, who said: Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utbah narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Abbas:
"The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to let his hair hang down, while the polytheists used to part their hair, and the People of the Book used to let their hair hang down, and he used to..." He likes to agree with the People of the Book in matters in which he has not been commanded to do anything. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, parted his head.
