حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ وَالَّذِي فَلَقَ الْحَبَّةَ وَبَرَأَ النَّسَمَةَ إِنَّهُ لَعَهْدُ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَىَّ أَنْ لاَ يُحِبَّنِي إِلاَّ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلاَ يُبْغِضَنِي إِلاَّ مُنَافِقٌ .
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Waki’ and Abu Mu’awiyah narrated to us, on the authority of al-A’mash. And Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us—and the wording is his—saying: Abu Mu’awiyah informed us, on the authority of al-A’mash, on the authority of ‘Adi ibn Thabit, on the authority of Zirr, who said: ‘Ali said: By Him Who split the seed and created the soul, it is a covenant from the unlettered Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, to me that none but a believer should love me. Only a hypocrite would hate me.
