Sunan an-Nasa'i — Hadith #24298

Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak told us, he said, Hujain bin Al-Muthanna told us, he said, Al-Layth told us, on the authority of Rabi’ah bin Abi Abd. Al-Rahman, on the authority of Hanzala ibn Qais, on the authority of Rafi’ ibn Khadij, he said: My uncle told me that they used to occupy the land during the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. And peace be upon him, including what grows on Wednesday, and some of the crops that the owner of the land excludes. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade us from that. So I said to Rafi’, so how? He rented it for dinars and dirhams, and Rafi’ said there was no problem with it for dinars and dirhams. Al-Awza’i disagreed with him.
