Hadith #37926
On the authority of Ibn Masoud - may God be pleased with him - he said: The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “You must be honest, for honesty leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise, and the man continues to speak the truth and seeks truthfulness, until he is recorded with God as truthful. And beware of lying, for Lying leads to immorality, and immorality leads to Hell, and a man will continue to lie, and he will continue to lie, until it is recorded in the sight of God. A liar.” Agreed upon
