Hadith #37927
قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: «لا تجلسوا في الطريق». قالوا: يا رسول الله، ما لنا سبيل إلا الجلوس في الطريق، ونتحدث فيه. قال: فإن لم يكن لكم سبيل إلا الاجتماع في الطريق فأدّوا حقه. قالوا: يا رسول الله، وما حقه؟ قال: «غض البصر، والنهي عن إيذاء النفس، ورد السلام، والأمر بالمعروف، والنهي عن المنكر». [1630]
He said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “You should refrain from sitting on the road.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah! We have no other way but to sit on the road, and we talk there.” He said: “If you have no other way but to gather on the road, then you should fulfill its right.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah! What is its right?” He said: “It is to lower the gaze, to refrain from hurting anyone, to return the greeting, and to enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong.” [1630]
