Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah — Hadith #47895

Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, on the authority of Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, on the authority of Hakim ibn Jabir, on the authority of his father, who said: I entered upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and saw pumpkin being cut up. I asked, "What is this?" He replied, "We use it to increase the quantity of our food." Abu 'Isa said: This Jabir is Jabir ibn Tariq, also known as Ibn Abi Tariq. He was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and we know of no other hadith narrated by him except this one. Abu Khalid's name was Sa'd.
