Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah — Hadith #48099

Omar bin Ismail bin Majlid bin Saeed told us, my father told me on the authority of Bayan, Qais bin Hazim told me, he said: I heard Saad bin Abi Waqqas say: I am the first man to shed blood in the way of God, and I am the first man to shoot an arrow in the way of God. You saw me raiding with a group of the companions of Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. We only ate tree leaves. And the pregnant woman until our cheeks ulcerated, and one of us would give birth just as a sheep or a camel gives birth, and the sons of Asad began to accuse me of my religion. Then I was disappointed and lost and my work went astray.
