Hadith #48136
Muhammad bin Bashar narrated to us, saying: Ibn Abi Adi narrated to us, and Muhammad bin Ja’far narrated to us, saying: Awf bin Abi Jamila narrated to us, on the authority of Yazid. Al-Farisi, who used to write the Qur’an, said: I saw the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in a dream during the time of Ibn Abbas. He said: So I said to Ibn Abbas: I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in sleep, and Ibn Abbas said: The Messenger of God was saying: Satan cannot imitate By me, whoever sees me in sleep has seen me. Can you describe this man whom you saw in sleep? He said: Yes, I describe to you a man between the two legs, whose body and flesh are brown to white, with kohl eyes, good laughter, beautiful facial circles, His beard filled what was between this and this. It filled his nostrils. Awf said: I do not know what happened with this adjective. Ibn Abbas: If you had seen him in the waking hours, you would not have been able to call him anything other than this. Abu Issa said: Yazid Al-Farsi is Yazid bin Hurmuz, and he is older than Yazid Al-Raqashi, and Yazid Al-Farsi narrated hadiths on the authority of Ibn Abbas. Yazid Al-Raqashi did not catch up with Ibn Abbas. He is Yazid bin Aban Al-Raqashi, and he narrated on the authority of Anas bin Malik. Yazid Al-Farsi and Yazid Al-Raqashi are both from Basra, and Awf bin Abi Jamila is Awf Al-Arabi.
