On the authority of Umm Salamah, she said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “When the tenth day has come and some of you want to sacrifice, let him not touch his hair.” And give him good tidings of something,” and in a narration, “And let him not trim the hair, nor trim the nail.” And in a narration, “Whoever sees the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah and wants to He offers the sacrifice and does not take any of his hair or his nails.” Narrated by Muslim
