Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #48684

On the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah, he said: I was throwing my shares at the debtor during the lifetime of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, when the sun was eclipsed and I threw them away. So I said: By God, we will see what happened to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, during the solar eclipse. He said: So I went to him while he was He was standing in prayer, raising his hands, and began to glorify Allah, glorify Allah, glorify Allah, praise Him, and pray until he felt sad about it. When he felt sad about it, he recited two surahs and prayed two rak’ahs. It was narrated by Muslim in his Sahih on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Samurah, and likewise in the explanation of the Sunnah on his authority and in the abrogation of al-Masabih on the authority of Jabir ibn Samurah
