وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: زَارَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْرَ أُمِّهِ فَبَكَى وَأَبْكَى مَنْ حَوْلَهَ فَقَالَ: «اسْتَأْذَنْتُ رَبِّي فِي أَن أسْتَغْفر لَهَا فَلم يُؤذن لي ن وَاسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ فِي أَنْ أَزُورَ قَبْرَهَا فَأُذِنَ لِي فَزُورُوا الْقُبُورَ فَإِنَّهَا تُذَكِّرُ الْمَوْتَ» . رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, visited his mother’s grave, and he wept and those around him wept, and said: “I asked my Lord for permission to I asked forgiveness for her, but I was not given permission. I asked him for permission to visit her grave, so he gave me permission. Visit the graves, for they remind of death.” Narrated by Muslim
