Hadith #49224
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: مَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَحَرَّى صِيَامَ يَوْمٍ فَضَّلَهُ عَلَى غَيْرِهِ إِلَّا هَذَا الْيَوْمَ: يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَهَذَا الشَّهْرُ يَعْنِي شَهْرَ رَمَضَان
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: I have never seen the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, seek to fast on a day that he preferred over any other day except this day: the day of Ashura. This month means the month of Ramadan.
