Hadith #50428
On the authority of Amr bin Shuaib, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The son of Adam does not vow anything that he does not possess or do not possess.” Emancipation for what he does not own, and no divorce for what he does not own.” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, and Abu Dawud added: “He does not sell except for what he owns.”
