Hadith #50577
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever makes a vow and does not name it, his expiation is the expiation of an oath.” And whoever makes a vow that he cannot bear, his atonement is the expiation of an oath. And whoever makes a vow and is able to fulfill it, let him fulfill it.” Narrated by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah, and some of them attributed it to Ibn Abbas.
