Sahih Muslim — Hadith #7592

Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn 'Ajlan, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, on the authority of Ibn Muhayriz, on the authority of al-Sunabihi, on the authority of 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, that he said: I entered upon him while he was dying and I wept. He said: "Wait, why are you weeping? By God, if I am martyred, I will testify for you, and if I am asked to intercede, I will intercede for you, and if I am able, I will benefit you." Then he said, “By God, there is no hadith that I heard from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that contains any good for you, except that I have told it to you, except for one hadith, and I will tell it to you today, and I am surrounded. I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: “Whoever testifies that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God, God will forbid the Fire for him.”
