حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ، مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ تَوَضَّأَ بِالْمَقَاعِدِ فَغَسَلَ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا وَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ سَقَطَتْ خَطَايَاهُ يَعْنِي مِنْ وَجْهِهِ وَيَدَيْهِ وَرِجْلَيْهِ وَرَأْسِهِ‏.‏
Sufyan bin Uyaynah told us, on the authority of Hisham, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Hamran, the servant of Uthman, may God be pleased with him, that Uthman performed ablution on the benches. So he washed himself three times and said, “I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying, ‘Whoever performed this ablution of mine, then stood up to pray, would have fallen. His sins, meaning, on his face, hands, feet, and head.
