حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ سَلْعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ قَبَضَ اللَّهُ نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى خَيْرِ مَا قُبِضَ عَلَيْهِ نَبِيٌّ مِنْ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ عَلَيْهِمْ السَّلَام ثُمَّ اسْتُخْلِفَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَعَمِلَ بِعَمَلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّهِ وَعُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كَذَلِكَ.
Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Ibn Numayr narrated to us, on the authority of Abd al-Malik bin Sila’, on the authority of Abd Khair, he said I heard Ali, may God be pleased with him, say: God took his Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, the best of the prophets ever taken. Peace be upon them. Then Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, was appointed as his successor, and he did the work of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the Sunnah of his Prophet and Omar, may God be pleased with him. About him as well.
