حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ هُبَيْرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُهْدِيَتْ لَهُ حُلَّةٌ مِنْ حَرِيرٍ فَكَسَانِيهَا قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَخَرَجْتُ فِيهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَسْتُ أَرْضَى لَكَ مَا أَكْرَهُ لِنَفْسِي قَالَ فَأَمَرَنِي فَشَقَقْتُهَا بَيْنَ نِسَائِي خُمُرًا بَيْنَ فَاطِمَةَ وَعَمَّتِهِ.
Muhammad ibn Ja`far narrated to us, Shu`bah narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Hubayra, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him And he greeted him. A silk robe was given to him, and he dressed him in it. Ali, may God be pleased with him, said: So I went out in it, and the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “I will not accept for you what I hate for myself.” He said, “So he commanded me, so I divided it among my wives, sharing wine between Fatima and his paternal aunt.”
