Hadith #48488
On the authority of Malik, he was informed that a man asked Ibn Umar about the Witr prayer: Is it obligatory? Abdullah said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, performed the Witr prayer and the Muslims performed the Witr prayer. So the man started repeating to him, and Abdullah said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, performed the Witr prayer. The Muslims performed Witr. Narrated in Al-Muwatta
