Hadith #48511
وَعَن الْأَعْرَج قَالَ: مَا أَدْرَكْنَا النَّاسَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ يَلْعَنُونَ الْكَفَرَةَ فِي رَمَضَانَ قَالَ: وَكَانَ الْقَارِئُ يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ وَإِذَا قَامَ بِهَا فِي ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً رَأَى النَّاسُ أَنه قد خفف. رَوَاهُ مَالك
On the authority of Al-Araj, he said: We did not meet the people except when they were cursing the infidels in Ramadan. He said: The reciter used to recite Surat Al-Baqarah in the eighth month of Ramadan. Rak'ahs, and if he performs them in twelve rak'ahs, people will see that he has shortened his prayers.
