Hadith #48536
وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لَعَبْدٍ فِي شَيْءٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ يُصَلِّيهِمَا وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ لَيُذَرُّ عَلَى رَأْسِ الْعَبْدِ مَا دَامَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ وَمَا تَقَرَّبَ الْعِبَادُ إِلَى اللَّهِ بِمِثْلِ مَا خَرَجَ مِنْهُ» يَعْنِي الْقُرْآنَ. رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ
On the authority of Abu Umamah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “God has not permitted a servant to pray anything better than the two rak’ahs, and indeed righteousness is To be scattered over the servant’s head as long as he is in his prayer and the servants do not draw near to God in anything like that which came from Him,” meaning the Qur’an. Narrated by Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi
