Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #51082

On the authority of Imran bin Husayn, he said: Thaqif was an ally of Banu Aqeel, so Thaqif captured two men from the companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his companions captured The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saw a man from Banu Aqeel, so they tied him up and threw him into Al-Harrah. Then the Messenger of God passed by him. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, so he called him: O Muhammad, O Muhammad, what have you taken? He said: “Because of the crime of your allies, Thaqif.” So he left him and went on, and he called him: “O Muhammad, O Muhammad.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, had mercy on him, so he returned and said: “What? What about you? He said: I am a Muslim. He said: “If you had said it.” And you are in control of your affairs, you will succeed with all success.” He said: So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, ransomed him for the two men whom Thaqif had captured.
