Hadith #48539
وَعَن يعلى بن أُميَّة قَالَ: قلت لعمر بن الْخطاب: إِنَّمَا قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى (أَنْ تَقْصُرُوا مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ إِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَنْ يَفْتِنَكُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا)
فَقَدْ أَمِنَ النَّاسُ. قَالَ عُمَرُ: عَجِبْتُ مِمَّا عَجِبْتَ مِنْهُ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. فَقَالَ: «صَدَقَةٌ تَصَدَّقَ اللَّهُ بِهَا عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْبَلُوا صدقته» رَوَاهُ مُسلم
On the authority of Ya’la bin Umayyah, he said: I said to Omar bin Al-Khattab: God Almighty only said (that you should shorten the prayer if you fear that those who disbelieve will tempt you) then the people have believed. Omar said: I was amazed at what you were amazed at, so I asked the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said: “Charity gives charity to God.” It is upon you, so accept his charity.” Narrated by Muslim
