Hadith #48570
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَرَأَ: (الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لكم دينكُمْ)
الْآيَةَ وَعِنْدَهُ يَهُودِيٌّ فَقَالَ: لَوْ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ عَلَيْنَا لَاتَّخَذْنَاهَا عِيدًا فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: فَإِنَّهَا نزلت فِي يَوْم عيدين فِي وَيَوْم جُمُعَةٍ وَيَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ
And about a frowning son that he read: "Today I have completed for you your religion."
And he has a Jewish verse, so he said: If this verse descended on us, we would not have taken it as a feast, so he said: It descended on a day of two feasts on the day of Jumu 'ah and the day of 'Arafah. Narrated by the pupil, and he said, "This is a strange good event."
