Hadith #48800
On the authority of Muadh bin Jabal, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “If you wish, I will inform you of the first thing God says to the believers.” On the Day of Resurrection? What is the first thing they say to him? We said: Yes, O Messenger of God. He said: “God says to the believers, ‘Did you like to meet me?’” They say: Yes, our Lord. He says: Why? They say: We hope for your pardon and forgiveness. So he says: My forgiveness has become obligatory for you. Narrated by Sharh al-Sunnah and Abu Nu`aym in al-Hilyah.
