Hadith #48878
وَعَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَمُوتُ فَيُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَةُ صُفُوفٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِلَّا أَوْجَبَ» . فَكَانَ مَالِكٌ إِذَا اسْتَقَلَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَازَةِ جَزَّأَهُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ صُفُوفٍ لِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ
وَفِي رِوَايَةِ التِّرْمِذِيِّ: قَالَ كَانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ إِذَا صَلَّى الْجِنَازَة فَتَقَالَّ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا جَزَّأَهُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثَةُ صُفُوفٍ أَوْجَبَ» . وروى ابْن مَاجَه نَحوه
On the authority of Malik bin Hubayra, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: “There is no Muslim who dies and three rows of people pray over him. Muslims unless it is obligatory.” So, when the people of the funeral procession departed, Malik used to divide them into three rows, according to this hadith. Narrated by Abu Dawood And in the narration of Al-Tirmidhi: He said: If Malik ibn Hubayra performed the funeral prayer and the people gathered around over it, he would give them three parts, then he said: He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Whoever has three rows of prayers upon him, it is obligatory.” Ibn Majah narrated something similar
