Hadith #48903
وَعَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَة رجل من الْأَنْصَار فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى الْقَبْر وَلما يُلْحَدْ بَعْدُ فَجَلَسَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ وَجَلَسْنَا مَعَهُ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ وَزَادَ فِي آخِرِهِ: كن على رؤوسنا الطير
On the authority of Al-Baraa bin Azib, he said: We went out with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, to the funeral of a man from the Ansar, and we ended up at the grave, and he had not yet become an atheist. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, sat facing the Qiblah and we sat with him. Narrated by Abu Dawud, Al-Nasa’i and Ibn He magnified it and added at the end: “Be birds over our heads.”
