عَن مَالِكٍ قَالَ: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِاسْتِبْرَاءِ الْإِمَاءِ بِحَيْضَةٍ إِنْ كَانَتْ مِمَّنْ تَحِيضُ وَثَلَاثَةِ أَشْهُرٍ إِنْ كَانَت مِمَّن تحيض وَينْهى عَن سقِِي مَاء الْغَيْر
On the authority of Malik, he said: I was informed that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to order that female slaves be cleansed with one menstrual period if they were among those who menstruate, and three Months if she is one of those who menstruate and it is forbidden to give someone else’s water to drink
