عَنْ مَالِكٍ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يُسْأَلُ: هَلْ يَصُومُ أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ يُصَلِّي أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ؟ فَيَقُولُ: لَا يَصُومُ أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ. وَلَا يُصَلِّي أَحَدٌ عَنْ أحد. رَوَاهُ فِي الْمُوَطَّأ
On the authority of Malik, he was informed that Ibn Umar was asking: Does anyone fast on behalf of someone or does someone pray on behalf of someone? He says: No one fasts on behalf of anyone else. No one prays on behalf of anyone else. Narrated in Al-Muwatta
