On the authority of Abdullah Yazid Al-Khattami, on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he used to say in his supplication: “O God, grant me your love and the love of someone whose love will benefit me.” With You, O God, whatever You have given me of what I love, make it a strength for me in what You love. O God, whatever You have removed from me of what I love, make it a void for me in what You love. “You love.” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi
