وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ فَجَعَلَهَا حَرَامًا وَإِنِّي حَرَّمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ حَرَامًا مَا بَيْنَ مَأْزِمَيْهَا أَنْ لَا يُهْرَاقَ فِيهَا دَمٌ وَلَا يُحْمَلَ فِيهَا سلاحٌ لقتالٍ وَلَا تُخبَطَ فِيهَا شجرةٌ إِلَّا لعلف» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم
On the authority of Abu Sa`id, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said: “Abraham made Mecca sacred and made it sacred, and I made Medina sacred in a sacred way between Its crisis is that no blood will be shed therein, no weapons will be carried therein for battle, and no trees will be knocked down therein except for fodder.” Narrated by Muslim
