وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ غيلَان بن سَلمَة الثَّقَفِيَّ أَسْلَمَ وَلَهُ عَشْرُ نِسْوَةٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَأَسْلَمْنَ مَعَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَمْسِكْ أَرْبَعًا وَفَارِقْ سَائِرَهُنَّ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ وَابْن مَاجَه
On the authority of Ibn Umar, may God be pleased with him, that Ghailan bin Salamah Al-Thaqafi converted to Islam and he had ten wives in pre-Islamic times, so they converted to Islam with him, so the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Catch four and separate from the rest of them.” Narrated by Ahmad, Al-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah
