Hadith #50474
وَعَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ وَزَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جحش عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تُحِدَّ عَلَى مَيِّتٍ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثِ لَيَالٍ إِلَّا عَلَى زَوْجٍ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا»
On the authority of Umm Habibah and Zainab bint Jahsh, on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said: “It is not permissible for a woman who believes in God and the Last Day “It is not permissible to mourn a dead person for more than three nights, except for a husband for four months and ten days.”
