Hadith #51459
وَعَن دِحيةَ بن خليفةَ قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَبَاطِيَّ فَأَعْطَانِي مِنْهَا قُبْطِيَّةً فَقَالَ: «اصْدَعْهَا صَدْعَيْنِ فَاقْطَعْ أَحَدَهُمَا قَمِيصًا وَأَعْطِ الْآخَرَ امْرَأَتَكَ تَخْتَمِرُ بِهِ» . فَلَمَّا أَدْبَرَ قَالَ: «وَأْمُرِ امْرَأَتَكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ تَحْتَهُ ثَوْبًا لَا يَصِفُهَا» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
On the authority of Dihya bin Khalifa, he said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, brought a copy of my copy, and he gave me some of it and said: “Cut it in two parts and cut one of them off.” One shirt and give the other to your wife to cover herself with.” When he turned around, he said: “And command your wife to put a garment underneath her that does not cover her.” Narrated by Abu Dawood
