Hadith #52032

وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " جَاءَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ إِلَى مُوسَى ابْنِ عِمْرَانَ فَقَالَ لَهُ: أَجِبْ رَبَّكَ ". قَالَ: «فَلَطَمَ مُوسَى عَيْنَ مَلَكَ الْمَوْتِ فَفَقَأَهَا» قَالَ: " فَرَجَعَ الْمَلَكُ إِلَى اللَّهِ فَقَالَ: إِنَّكَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي إِلَى عَبْدٍ لَكَ لَا يُرِيدُ الْمَوْتَ وَقَدْ فَقَأَ عَيْنِي " قَالَ: " فَرَدَّ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ عَيْنَهُ وَقَالَ: ارْجِعْ إِلَى عَبْدِي فَقُلْ: الْحَيَاةَ تُرِيدُ؟ فَإِنْ كُنْتَ تُرِيدُ الْحَيَاةَ فَضَعْ يَدَكَ عَلَى مَتْنِ ثَوْرٍ فَمَا تَوَارَتْ يَدُكَ مِنْ شَعْرِهِ فَإِنَّكَ تَعِيشُ بِهَا سَنَةً قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَهْ؟ قَالَ: ثُمَّ تَمُوتُ. قَالَ: فَالْآنَ مِنْ قَرِيبٍ رَبِّ أَدْنِنِي مِنَ الْأَرْضِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ رَمْيَةً بِحَجَرٍ ". قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَاللَّهِ لَوْ أَنِّي عِنْدَهُ لَأَرَيْتُكُمْ قَبْرَهُ إِلَى جَنْبِ الطَّرِيقِ عِنْدَ الْكَثِيبِ الْأَحْمَرِ» . مُتَّفق عَلَيْهِ

On his authority, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The Angel of Death came to Moses Ibn Imran and said to him: Answer your Lord.” He said: “Then Moses smote the eye of the angel of death and put it out.” He said: “Then the king returned to God and said: You have sent me to a servant of yours who does not want to die. So he gouged out my eye. He said: Then God restored his eye to him and said: Go back to my servant and say: Do you want life? If you want to live, then put your hand on the back of a bull, and whatever hair your hand hides, you will live therein for a year. He said: Then what? He said: Then you die. He said: Now, my Lord, bring me near. From the Holy Land, a stone’s throw away.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “By God, if I were with him, I would show you his grave next to The road to the Red Dune.” Agreed upon
