Hadith #52776
وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: { كَسَانِي اَلنَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -حُلَّةً سِيَرَاءَ, فَخَرَجْتُ فِيهَا, فَرَأَيْتُ اَلْغَضَبَ فِي وَجْهِهِ, فَشَقَقْتُهَا بَيْنَ نِسَائِي } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ, وَهَذَا لَفْظُ مُسْلِمٍ 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه البخاري (5840)، ومسلم (2071). "تنبيه" لا وزن لقول الحافظ: "وهذا لفظ مسلم" إذ هو نفس لفظ البخاري حرفا بحرف سواء بسواء.
There is an Idraj in its last part.
So the narration is weak whether Marfu' [reaching back to the Prophet (ﷺ)] or Mawquf (saying of a Companion).
And it's meaning is to put (one's) hands on his waist.
This Hadith is more authentic than the Hadith narrated by Wa'il bin Hujr (RA).
