Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44585

Affan told us, Abd al-Wahid bin Ziyad told us, he said, Asim bin Kulayb told us, he said, my father said, so Ibn Abbas told us, may God be pleased with him. About them, he said: What amazes you about that? It was when Omar, may God be pleased with him, called the sheikhs from the companions of Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. He called me with them and said: Do not speak until they speak. He called us one day or one night and said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: On the Night of Destiny, as you have learned, seek it in the last ten days at an odd number, in whichever odd number you will see it.
