Sahih Muslim — Hadith #7691

And it has been told to us [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah] has told us [Hafsh bin Ghiyats] from [al-A'masy] from [Abu Sufyan] from [Jabir] from [Abu Salih] from [Abu Hurairah] both of them said, "Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "I was ordered to fight humans' as per the hadith of Ibn al-Musayyab from Abu Hurairah. (in another narration it is stated) And it has been told to me [Abu Bakr bin Abu Syaibah] has told us [Waki']. (in another narration it is mentioned) And it has been told to me [Muhammad bin al-Mutsanna] has told us [Abdurrahman] - namely bin Mahdi - both of them said, have told us [Sufyan] from [Abu az-Zubair] from [Jabir] he said, "The Messenger of Allah said: "I was ordered to fight people until they say, 'There is no god (who has the right to be worshiped) but Allah', so they said, 'There is no god (who has the right to be worshiped) worshiped) but Allah', then indeed they have protected their property and souls from (my attacks) except due to the rights of Islam. And their reckoning is left to Allah. Then he read: '(Indeed you are (only) warners. You have absolutely no power over them)' (Qs. Al Ghaasyiyah:)
