Muwatta Malik — Hadith #35512

Abdullah ibn Umar says that even if the dog eats some of the prey, its food is valid. A question was asked from Saad bin Abi Waqqas that if a learning dog eats the prey after killing it? Malik said: I heard scholars say that hawks and eagles and falcons and animals similar to them, if they are taught and they become wise, like Trained dogs are intelligent, so their killed animals are also correct, provided they are released saying Bismillah. The owner said that if the prey escapes from the claws of a hawk or from the mouth of a dog and dies, then it is not right to eat it. Malik said, "Whatever animal a man is capable of slaughtering, but he should not slaughter it and let it remain in the claws of a hawk or in the mouth of a dog until the hawk or dog kills it, then its food." not correct
