Hadith #36378
وإذا اقترب أحد يريد الاستئذان فلا ينبغي له أن يقف مقابل الباب، بل يقف قليلاً عن اليمين أو عن اليسار. فالأفضل أن يؤذن له وإلا فإنه يرجع. (أبو داود، أحمد)
When one approaches with the intention of asking for permission to enter, he should not stand facing the door, but stand a little to the right or to the left. It is better if he is allowed, otherwise he will go back. (Abu Dawud, Ahmad)
