They dislike something that you know better than they do. God's oath! I am Abu Bakr, This is how I greeted Umar and Uthman. None of them disliked it. Mu'awiyah (RA) said to the person among the Syrians who said this, O! shut up That's pretty much what he said. But the Syrians say after the commotion, I will not shorten the salutation to our Caliph. O people of Medina! I want to remind you that you also address the Zakat collectors as "Ameer".
