Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44914

Safwan bin Issa told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abi Maryam, he said: I entered upon Ibn Darah, the servant of Uthman. He said, “He heard me.” He rinsed his mouth, he said, and he said, O Muhammad, he said, I said to your father. He said, “Shall I not tell you about the ablution of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace?” He said, “I saw Uthman.” May God be pleased with him. While he was seated, he called for ablution, rinsed his mouth three times, sniffed his mouth three times, washed his face three times, washed his arms three times, and wiped his head. Three times, he washed his feet, then said: Whoever likes to look at the ablution of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, then this is the ablution of the Messenger of God.
