حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ زَعَمَ أَبُو الْمِقْدَامِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ دَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِعُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مُتَّكِئٌ عَلَى رِدَائِهِ فَأَتَاهُ سَقَّاءَانِ يَخْتَصِمَانِ إِلَيْهِ فَقَضَى بَيْنَهُمَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ حَسَنُ الْوَجْهِ بِوَجْنَتِهِ نَكَتَاتُ جُدَرِيٍّ وَإِذَا شَعْرُهُ قَدْ كَسَا ذِرَاعَيْهِ.
Abdullah narrated to us, Ziyad bin Ayyub narrated to me, Hushaym narrated to us, he said what Abu Al-Miqdam said on the authority of Al-Hasan bin Abi Al-Hasan, he said I entered The mosque, then I saw Uthman bin Affan, may God be pleased with him, leaning on his robe, and two butlers came to him and were disputing over him, so he decided between them. Then I came to him and looked at him, and behold, there was a man with a beautiful face, with smallpox spots on his cheeks, and behold, his hair covered his arms.
