حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِذَا بَعَثْتَنِي أَكُونُ كَالسِّكَّةِ الْمُحْمَاةِ أَمْ الشَّاهِدُ يَرَى مَا لَا يَرَى الْغَائِبُ قَالَ الشَّاهِدُ يَرَى مَا لَا يَرَى الْغَائِبُ‏.‏
Yahya bin Saeed told us, on the authority of Sufyan, Muhammad bin Omar bin Ali bin Abi Talib told us, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, he said, “O Messenger of God, when you send me, I will be like a hot rail. The mother of the witness sees what the absent person does not see. The witness said, he sees what the absent person does not see.
